Location

The Leibniz Innovationshof is being built at the Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt für Tierzucht und Tierhaltung e.V. (LVAT) in Groß Kreutz, Brandenburg.

In close cooperation, scientists and practitioners are developing a model farm for a circular economy with crop cultivation, animal husbandry and decentralized residue management.

The farm and the land are mostly owned by the state of Brandenburg and represent typical arable and grassland sites of the state with their different site conditions. The farm is excellently equipped with modern machinery, barns and a biogas plant, which are being further expanded as part of the Leibniz Innovation Farm. In addition to long-standing cooperation with research institutions and universities, LVAT also educates agricultural apprentices and master craftsmen.

LVAT currently focuses on animal husbandry and feed production: various ruminants (dairy and suckler cows, sheep, goats) as well as pigs (at the Ruhlsdorf site) live here.
